I recently started a new role at a major tech company, but I'm struggling to adjust to the much slower pace compared to my previous experiences at multiple FAANG companies. My usual "get stuff done" mentality has served me well in the past, but here, the communication is lacking. I often find myself waiting days for answers to simple questions, and when I reach out to colleagues for feedback on projects they're involved in, I sometimes feel ignored. This has made me anxious, especially since I've faced sudden layoffs in the past. I regularly have 1:1 meetings with my manager, who is new to the organization, and I also keep in touch with my recruiter, but I can't shake the feeling of uncertainty. I'm trying to find ways to cope with this anxiety and adapt to the slower work environment without feeling like I'm in bad standing with my team.
