I was recently laid off from my role after seven months due to overhiring and a lack of work at the company. I had seen this coming and had proactively started searching for new positions and networking with contacts who could help me find opportunities. Despite my efforts, it still feels frustrating to lose my job, especially since I received no negative feedback during my time there. In fact, just two weeks prior, my contract was extended until July 2027, which makes the sudden layoff even more surprising. I was diligent in my work, often insisting on getting specific documentation for projects, while others seemed to overlook those details. Thankfully, the company was gracious about the situation and allowed me to have a full week before my last day. Now, I'm back on the job hunt, reaching out to my network and applying for new roles, while my recruiting agency is also assisting me in finding new opportunities. It's a tough transition, but I'm determined to move forward.
