I recently left my first job after just one week. After a long job search, I finally landed a position that I was excited about, and the company seemed great. The first week went well; the environment was friendly and welcoming. However, I quickly realized that I was not hired for the role I had applied for, and there was a lack of clarity regarding my job description from the start. I felt like I was expected to know everything without proper guidance. I communicated that I needed some time to get accustomed to the new responsibilities, but my team required immediate answers. When I declined a task that was outside my comfort zone, it led to confusion and confrontation from my coworkers. This made me feel like a burden, and overwhelmed by anxiety, I decided to resign. Now, I regret that decision. I truly wanted to succeed in this role and believe I could have thrived if given a little more time to adjust. I'm left feeling uncertain about my choice and what to do next.
