Applied for a job at a local restaurant and plan to follow up in two weeks

I recently dropped off my CV at a local restaurant where I really want to work. The kitchen manager mentioned that there might be an opening in the next two weeks, so I'm considering whether I should follow up or just wait. I’ve heard that checking in can be beneficial, but I don’t want to come off as too pushy. I plan to return in about two weeks to see if the position has opened up, as that aligns with the timeline he provided. If nothing has changed by then, I’ll take that as a sign to move on to other opportunities.
