I've been on a relentless job search for what feels like an eternity. I've submitted around 400 applications, but only managed to land about 15 interviews, and just 2 job offers. It's disheartening to see that despite having 4 years of experience, I'm still being offered salaries at the bottom of the pay scale. The interview process has been frustrating as well. I've encountered managers who show up late and one even repeatedly mentioned 'full transparency' about details that weren't disclosed in the job postings, like the fact that the position is seasonal and not year-round. I've also faced the agony of multi-round interviews, only to receive rejection emails weeks later, which feels like a cruel reminder of my efforts. The only opportunity that seems viable right now would require me to completely uproot my life and move across the country, but that comes with its own uncertainties. If I don’t secure a job within the next week, I’ll be facing unemployment, and that thought is really terrifying.
