I was recently laid off from my position at Uber, where I had only been working for two months. Unfortunately, during this time, the company decided to lay off 10% of its workforce, and being on probation didn't work in my favor. I received a call informing me that I had the lowest tenure among my peers, which ultimately led to my layoff. It felt incredibly harsh, especially since I had requested an extension on my notice period and even offered to take a cut from my severance package, but they refused. It’s disheartening to think about why they hired me in the first place if they were going to let me go so quickly. The entire experience has felt very heartless.
