I was laid off in March 2025 and have found myself in a teaching role since then. It's been a challenging transition, and I often feel depressed and embarrassed about it. Teaching is incredibly time-consuming and demanding, making it difficult for me to focus on interviewing or upskilling for my previous career in finance. I feel trapped in this position, and with only four years since my undergraduate degree, I'm worried that my teaching career might extend longer than my finance career ever did. This thought is quite frightening for me.
