I experienced my first layoff recently, and it's been a heavy blow. It's been 6 months since I was laid off from my role as an IT QA Engineer after 5 years with the company. I've been applying for jobs here and there, but unfortunately, I haven't received a single offer letter. I've managed to get a few interviews, but most of the opportunities are far from my home base, and the requirement for in-office work makes it difficult for me to relocate. I have to take care of my father who has heart problems and gout, which adds to the challenge, especially on a tight budget. I even decided to branch out and pursue a career as a Data Analyst, completing a portfolio and earning a certificate, but still, no luck. I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with my CV or if I messed up during interviews. My hope is dwindling every day, and I just needed to express these feelings somewhere.
