Navigating the Emotional Turmoil of My Upcoming Layoff After 7 Years in the Wedding Industry

I was informed a few weeks ago that I would be laid off, and my last day at the company is this coming Monday. After 7 years in what I considered my dream job in the wedding industry, it's hard to accept that the CEO has decided to pivot towards a more tech-focused approach. This shift led to the replacement of many Customer Service roles with AI, and ultimately, the decision to outsource the remaining positions to India. As part of the transition, I was demoted from my role as a Customer Service manager to a representative, which has been a struggle for me. I haven't been in that position for nearly two years, and now I’m facing productivity requirements that feel overwhelming. To make matters worse, I’m currently on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), and I need to clear it to receive my severance. I’m feeling incredibly stressed and mentally drained. While I appreciate the support from my coworkers who have reached out to wish me luck, I can’t help but feel frustrated and want to express my anger. It’s a strange mix of emotions, and I just want to scream into a pillow and then push through the last few days of work.
