I’ve been reflecting on the recent trend of large companies closing down underperforming locations, and it really hits home for me. I’ve worked at a billion-dollar company for over 15 years, and I’ve seen firsthand how decisions are made regarding which stores or factories to shut down. It often feels arbitrary, as if the metrics used to determine ‘underperformance’ don’t take into account the years of dedication from employees. It’s disheartening to see loyal workers, who have invested so much time and effort, receive notices of closure without any real explanation. It’s a harsh reality in the corporate world, and it makes me question the values of these large corporations.
