I recently turned 16 and have been actively applying for jobs in my area, but I haven't received any responses—no interviews or even rejection emails. I've submitted about eight applications so far and feel frustrated. I haven't included a resume because I don't have any prior work experience, but I'm starting to wonder if that's a mistake. Some people suggested that I should create a resume highlighting my school achievements and any informal work I've done, like babysitting or mowing lawns. I've also tried marking my availability as open and even went in person to talk to managers, but nothing has worked. I'm starting to feel like I need to show some initiative or skills to stand out in this competitive job market. Any advice on how to improve my applications would be greatly appreciated.
