Navigating the transition: Weighing options before my new job starts

I recently accepted a job offer with a new company and have a confirmed start date coming up soon. However, I'm still waiting on the pre-employment screening instructions, which I was told would arrive shortly. I'm currently weighing my options regarding my current job, where I didn't plan to stay long-term. I'm considering whether to finish out my workweek or leave a couple of days early to prepare for the new role. While I could really use the extra time, I'm also concerned about the potential financial impact if there’s a delay with the new job. I'm particularly unsure about how to handle giving notice, if at all. Should I play it safe and finish the week, or is it acceptable to leave early since my new start date is confirmed?
