Navigating anxiety over potential layoffs while exploring new job opportunities

I'm currently feeling anxious about potential layoffs at my company in Ireland. I've been noticing a significant reduction in my responsibilities, and despite being part of one of the so-called "strategic priorities," I have a sinking feeling that I might be on the chopping block when the layoffs happen next month. It's been really tough on my confidence, and I find the whole situation quite humiliating. On a brighter note, I've been interviewing for some exciting opportunities externally, which gives me a glimmer of hope. I'm torn about what to do next—should I quit as soon as I receive a new job offer, or should I stick around and see if I get laid off, hoping for a severance package? I’m not sure how redundancy would look to future employers, and I’m also trying to understand what a consultation period entails here in Ireland. I'm reaching out for advice on whether to take the leap with a new offer or wait it out. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
