I recently received an offer for a position that I thought was my "dream" job, but the terms are making me second-guess my decision. I currently work as a counselor at a Catholic high school, and my commute is about 30-35 minutes each way, which I find frustrating. I've been eager to transition to a work-from-home role, especially since I enjoyed it during the pandemic. The offer I got was from a fully online school, but the pay is about $9,000 less than what I'm currently making, and they stated that it is non-negotiable. To make matters worse, since I would be starting late in the school year, I wouldn't be eligible for any paid time off during my first year, only receiving 48 hours in the second year. This is a significant concern for me as I have two big trips planned this year—a honeymoon and a family vacation. My current job is quite flexible with time off, so I'm worried about how that would change. I'm feeling a mix of excitement and disappointment. I was initially thrilled about the opportunity, but now I'm feeling overwhelmed by the unfavorable terms. I'm seeking reassurance about whether turning down this offer is the right choice. Should I stay at my current job, which I find exhausting, for another year in hopes of a better opportunity?
