I'm currently a Security Engineer specializing in Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) with 3 years of experience. Recently, I've been feeling stagnant in my career as I've watched my peers advance and earn more. This prompted me to start applying for new roles about 35 days ago. Since then, I've received around 30 interview callbacks, with several opportunities now in the final stages, including positions at EY GDS and a leading security services company. However, my current employer is reluctant to let me go, asking me to extend my notice period from the standard 30 days to 3-6 months due to the critical nature of my work. I feel a strong sense of guilt about leaving, as I'm the only one managing key responsibilities and I genuinely want to maintain good relations. This guilt is impacting my mindset during interviews, making me question the point of continuing my job search. I'm even contemplating pausing my search to assist in finding and training a replacement. Has anyone else faced a similar dilemma? How did you navigate it?
