From job loss to new beginnings: My journey to a better role and salary

I wanted to share my final update after a tumultuous job search journey. First off, a huge thank you to everyone who offered advice along the way. Your insights really helped me navigate this chaotic transition. To give you some background, I relocated to Texas for personal reasons and left a well-paying job behind. Once I settled in, I took a legal position with a salary of $55k, but the one-hour commute was brutal. I kept interviewing and eventually landed a fully remote role that I was really excited about, offering $65k and a better title. I felt my skills justified this leap, so I accepted the offer. On my first day, I was flown out for onboarding, spent a week getting to know the team, and felt like a rockstar. But just four days later, during my routine check-in, I was unexpectedly terminated. The company decided they wanted someone local, despite the role being advertised as remote. To make matters worse, I learned that several others on my team were let go around the same time. It was a shocking experience, especially after only seven days on the job. However, I took the advice I received here to heart—knowing my worth and taking risks. Fast forward to now, I’m almost two weeks into an even better position. It aligns perfectly with my background, pays $63k, and offers the highest title I've ever held along with unmatched autonomy. I waited to share this update to ensure my new role was secure, and I can confidently say I'm in a much better place. Life can throw unexpected challenges, but believing in my value has helped me land on my feet. I've learned a lot and have no regrets. Thank you all once again!
