Today, I faced a setback in my job search. I interviewed for an entry-level bank teller position, which was my first interview in two years, and I was rejected just two minutes after it ended. I thought I did well in the interview and answered all the questions appropriately, but I had to admit I lacked cash handling experience when they asked about it. I had hoped my customer service background would be enough to secure the role, especially since the pay was only slightly better than my current job at $18 per hour, coming in at around $22 or $23. I'm feeling really discouraged because it seems like I can't leverage my customer service degree or the skills I've gained over the years to land a new job. It's frustrating to think that I can't even make more than $20 an hour in this job market. I'm starting to wonder if I should just give up on finding something better. I really don't want to go back to school for another degree; it feels like a ridiculous option at this point.
