Navigating salary concerns after accepting a nonprofit job offer

I recently accepted a verbal offer for a more senior lateral position at a nonprofit organization, but I'm feeling conflicted about the compensation. After being laid off a few weeks ago, I'm currently receiving pay from my previous employer until the end of the month. The offer I received is about a 6% decrease in pay from my last job, and while it falls within the top of the salary range discussed, I'm wondering if I should attempt to negotiate for a higher salary. I know that the hiring manager and HR are aware of my situation, but I'm hesitant because I’ve already accepted the offer. Many people have advised against negotiating at this stage, suggesting that I could risk having the offer rescinded. I'm considering whether it’s worth it to ask for a little more or if I should just move forward and focus on future opportunities for raises and bonuses.
