I was recently laid off from my position as a subcontractor at Booz Allen after just five months. The news came completely out of the blue; I worked half the day only to receive a call informing me that my last day would be in two weeks. Unfortunately, there’s no severance due to budget cuts and restructuring within the department's contract. It’s frustrating to put in so much hard work only to hear the classic line, 'it’s not you, it’s me.' Now, I'm back to applying for hundreds of jobs, hoping to find something soon.
