Navigating Uncertainty as a Receptionist at Pet Resort Hospitality Group

I just found out that the luxury pet boarding facility where I've been working as a receptionist for the past six months is being sold to a private equity firm. Our owner announced the news during a company-wide meeting today, and I could feel the shock in the room. Most of my coworkers are young and inexperienced with such transitions, and there were definitely tears and a lot of uncertainty. I really enjoy my job and have received excellent feedback during my review, so this news is particularly unsettling. The new company, Pet Resort Hospitality Group, is coming in on Wednesday to address our concerns, but our current owner couldn't provide clear answers about how this will affect payroll or our jobs. She mentioned some perks she negotiated, like continuing to order food wholesale and getting discounts for boarding her own dogs, but it doesn't ease my worries about the future. I’m feeling lost right now. I love my role and the team, but I know things are going to change significantly. I’m considering what questions I should ask during the meeting and what my next steps should be. I’ve received some advice to update my resume and start looking for other opportunities, just in case things go south. I’d appreciate any thoughts or advice on how to navigate this situation.
