Navigating a referral request after my layoff: feeling conflicted and unsure

I got laid off from my role at a nonprofit in the Spring due to the end of external grant funding, not because of my performance. I quietly updated my LinkedIn without making a big announcement about it. Recently, I received a message on LinkedIn from a recent grad I had coffee with earlier this year. During that meeting, she was very eager to network and learn about working at my former employer. Fast forward 8 months, and she reached out again after 8 PM, asking for referrals for two job openings at the same place that laid me off, one of which pays double what I used to make. I ignored her first message, as I was busy, but she followed up again today. I’m torn on how to respond. I don’t know her well, and I feel uncomfortable providing details about my layoff. I wonder if it’s common sense not to ask for a referral from someone who was recently laid off, especially without knowing the circumstances. Am I overreacting, or is it reasonable to feel put off by this? I’m leaning towards just leaving her on read.
