I recently applied for a mid-level position and received an automated email inviting me to schedule a screening. However, the company is asking for three professional references upfront, including my current supervisor. I'm not comfortable providing my boss's contact information at this stage, as I want to ensure the job is a good fit before involving them. I'm unsure how to decline this request professionally without jeopardizing my chances for the interview.
