I was recently terminated from my position as a manager at a grocery store in California. The termination notice I received outlined several issues, including ongoing coaching on professional communication and collaboration, as well as multiple written warnings for my lack of professionalism and engagement. My performance reviews indicated that I did not meet expectations, and despite feedback, I failed to show sustained improvement. Now, I'm trying to figure out what to put as the reason for my termination when applying for unemployment. Should I list it as poor performance, or is there a better option? I'm not proud of the situation, but I want to be honest while also ensuring I have a chance at receiving benefits.
