Considering a Non-Profit Role with a Pay Cut Amid Job Market Uncertainty

I have been approached by a non-profit organization to join their team, but the catch is that I would have to accept a pay cut of about 20 to 25%. Given the recent funding cuts in the sector, I'm feeling uncertain about whether this is a wise move. My current job is quite unstable, with constant layoffs looming over us, and I would prefer to leave on my own terms rather than waiting for the inevitable. The job market is brutal right now, with daily layoffs reported, so I'm contemplating whether I should make the switch now or continue searching for something more stable. I'm looking for advice from anyone who has experience working in non-profits recently.
