I recently started noticing some concerning changes at my company after we were acquired by a private equity firm back in February. Now, we're being forced to return to the office three days a week starting September 1st, which feels like a major shift in policy. On top of that, they've installed a productivity monitoring tool on all non-executive employees' computers that tracks keystrokes and mouse movements every 15 minutes since June. To make matters worse, I found out that McKinsey has been brought on as a consultant since March. With all these signs pointing towards tighter control and oversight, I'm starting to feel anxious about potential layoffs. I think it's time for me to brace myself and start looking for new opportunities.
