I recently started a new job as a barista at Starbucks after being unemployed for nearly a year following a layoff from my graphic design team just before Christmas last year. I'm contemplating whether pursuing a long-term career as a store manager could be a viable path for me. My goal is to eventually reach a salary between $60k and $80k within the next five years, and I’m interested in potentially moving up to a district manager or corporate role. I like the idea that I could relocate anywhere in the country, as Starbucks offers opportunities to transfer to different locations. However, I'm unsure if aiming for a management position is realistic or if I should continue exploring other job options.
