The hiring manager mentioned that the written offer letter would arrive the next day, but when I didn't see it, I followed up and was told I should expect more information by Monday. Now it's Monday afternoon, and I'm still waiting for that offer letter or any updates. We had discussed a tentative start date, but I’m hesitant to inform my current employer until I have the written offer in hand. I'm wondering if this delay is typical after a verbal offer and if it’s common for employers to be flexible if the delay affects my notice period. Should I be worried about pushing back the start date by a week or two to ensure I can give proper notice?
