I just quit my part-time retail job after only a month, and I did it without any notice. I was a student trying to balance work and classes, but the store manager was unbearable. There were numerous negative reviews online about her behavior, including yelling at staff and swearing in front of customers. She even chain-smoked right outside the store despite clear no-smoking signs. I asked for a consistent schedule to accommodate my classes, but they never followed through. After enduring it for a while, I found a better opportunity that offered a consistent schedule, better hours, and higher pay. This morning, I sent a message on Teams to quit and then deleted both Teams and the scheduling app. I felt a bit guilty about ghosting them, as I’ve always given two weeks' notice in the past, but this time I just couldn't take it anymore. I don’t plan on using them as a reference and honestly hope to forget that job ever existed.
