Navigating Severance Options After 16 Years: To Accept or Seek Legal Advice?

I recently experienced a mass layoff after 16 years of service at my company. I was offered a severance package that includes a three-month notice period, followed by 16 weeks of severance pay, and an additional 23 weeks if I sign the release agreement. This totals to about 2.4 weeks of severance for each year I worked. I'm trying to determine if this is a reasonable offer for Ontario or if I should seek legal advice for a better deal. Some people are telling me to take the offer and run since it's essentially a year's salary, while others suggest consulting a lawyer before making any decisions. I'm feeling uncertain about whether to accept the severance or push for more.
