Navigating Job References After Leaving My Landscaping Job Abruptly

I recently found myself in a tough situation regarding references while applying for my dream job. I had to leave a landscaping position abruptly due to workplace bullying, and I texted my boss to let him know I was quitting. When I went back a week later to pick up my paycheck, I didn't see him, but his boss reassured me that there were no hard feelings and that I could return if I wanted. Unfortunately, I didn't get my boss's last name, so I couldn't use him as a reference and ended up putting someone else's info as a placeholder. Now, I'm worried that my potential employer will reach out to my references and that not having a solid reference from that job might hurt my chances. I'm anxious about whether they would cancel the interview if they found out. I hope that they focus on my skills and experience rather than just the references.
