Navigating a Chaotic Work Environment: Seeking Advice on Job Search Strategies

I recently made a lateral move to a new company in the same industry to gain better work-life balance, thinking it would be a great opportunity for my family. Initially, I was excited about the flexibility they offered, despite hearing some rumors about the company's culture. I had relevant experience for the role, which made me a strong candidate. However, after a month, I've started to notice significant red flags. The work environment is chaotic, with too many people involved in decision-making, leading to a lot of backstabbing and a lack of collaboration. Unlike my previous job, where teamwork was emphasized, this place feels like a battleground between departments. Training has been virtually non-existent. I feel like I'm treated as if I should already know everything, and asking questions is met with condescension. The customers I manage often get neglected unless their needs align perfectly with the company's rigid processes. My boss only intervenes when there's a major complaint, despite assurances of support and training that have never materialized. The person assigned to train me had only been in the role for a month when I started, which is far from ideal. Now, my probation period is ending, and I feel like I'm at a breaking point. I have a solid resume, but this job is not something I want to showcase. I've never left a job in less than three years, so I feel trapped. I live in an at-will state, and I'm concerned about whether this large company will provide any formal warning if they decide to let me go. I'm seriously considering starting my job search now, as the situation here is becoming increasingly untenable. I'm scared for my family's future, and it's frustrating that I have to think about protecting myself in this way. Returning to my previous employer isn't an option, as the industry is quite passionate, and leaving for a competitor means I likely won't be welcomed back. I appreciate any advice or insights from others who may have faced similar situations.
