I recently faced a frustrating situation with my unemployment claim in Maryland. The Department of Labor denied my claim, stating that I "voluntarily quit" my job, which is not accurate. I was terminated, and I provided the name and contact information of the HR representative who issued my termination letter when I filed my claim at the end of May. I also mentioned that I could provide the termination letter at any time if needed. Now, I'm stuck in a position where I have to appeal this decision, even though the error was on the department's part. I find it frustrating that I have to go through this process when I have all the necessary documentation to prove my case. I've reached out to my representative's office for assistance and am currently waiting to see if I can simply show them the termination letter to resolve this issue. Has anyone else experienced something similar? It feels like the department's poor fact-finding is causing unnecessary delays.
