I recently applied to two remote jobs and got contacted by someone claiming to be the director of operations. However, when I searched for this person on LinkedIn, I couldn't find them, which made me suspicious. Both job postings mentioned that the interview would include the president of the company, who I could find online, but the director of operations was nowhere to be found in the email correspondence. They also requested that I use Slack for communication, which felt off to me. I've encountered similar situations in the past where someone was impersonating a legitimate contact, but by the time I realized it, the job postings had already been removed from Indeed. These postings are still active, which adds to my concern. I’m considering reaching out to the company's HR to verify the legitimacy of the titles and the interview process.
