I'm currently evaluating my job situation at a company where I make $14/hour, working 40 hours a week. The catch is that my job is about 30 minutes away, and since I don't drive, I rely on Uber for my daily commute. Each trip costs around $30, totaling about $60 a day just for transportation. After taxes and these Uber costs, a significant portion of my paycheck vanishes before I even see it. I'm feeling stuck because I need the income and work experience, but I'm questioning if this arrangement is financially sustainable long-term. I've been considering whether I should keep the job temporarily, look for alternative transportation options, or seek something closer to home. Unfortunately, public transportation doesn’t fully cover my route, which complicates things. I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has faced a similar situation and what their thoughts are on the best course of action. I appreciate any advice or insights!
