I had two interviews three weeks ago for different positions and I'm feeling a bit lost on the follow-up. After the first interview, which I felt went really well, I sent a thank you email to the recruiter and asked when a decision would be made. I got a vague response about needing to complete some administrative tasks before they could proceed, which I understand since it's a local government role and those can take a while. The second interview, however, didn't go as smoothly. I felt awkward and clumsy throughout, and I'm considering reaching out to the recruiter there as well. I'm wondering if I should send a thank you note, even though it's been three weeks since the interview. I really want to express my gratitude but I'm also feeling embarrassed about how I performed. I know I need to find a new job soon; while I'm grateful for my current position, it's just not a good fit anymore. Any advice on whether I should reach out or just let it go?
