Contemplating resignation as a regulatory compliance specialist after a decade

I've been contemplating resigning from my role as a regulatory compliance specialist at a highly regulated company for a while now, primarily due to personal reasons. The situation has become complicated because I'm currently on a two-person team, and my colleague, who is also my manager, has just submitted their two weeks' notice. We're responsible for critical monthly regulatory work, and with them leaving, I feel overwhelmed and unable to take on their responsibilities, which has pushed me to finally consider resigning. I've been with the company for over a decade and have built a good relationship with my manager's manager, who has made exceptions for me in the past. I want to give them enough time to find a replacement or hire a temporary worker, but I also feel the urge to just resign and not be burdened by the situation. I have over a year's worth of savings and am not worried about finding another job, so my decision isn't based on immediate employment prospects. I've been wrestling with the timing of my resignation, wanting to be considerate but also feeling that I shouldn't be responsible for the company's staffing decisions. After sharing my thoughts with others, I've realized that I shouldn't feel guilty about the management's choices and that I need to prioritize my own well-being. I think I will go ahead and submit my two weeks' notice soon, but I'm still figuring out the best way to approach it.
