Interview insights for assistant/marketing role with excessive hours and low pay

I had a job interview today for an assistant/marketing role at a local firm that works with telecom clients. Right after I applied, the job posting disappeared, but they still invited me in for an interview. When I arrived, I was shocked by the schedule and pay structure they presented. They expect employees to work Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 8:30 PM, which totals 11-hour shifts, plus Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. That’s easily over 60 hours a week! As for the pay, they offered a base of just $6 an hour, with the potential to earn commissions that might bring my weekly total to around $800–$900. The whole vibe felt really informal, and I noticed some concerning aspects like vague vacation policies and poor vision insurance. It honestly felt more like a direct sales operation than a legitimate consulting firm. During the interview, I just smiled and nodded to avoid any awkwardness, but I was really turned off by the whole situation. I don't mind hard work, but this seems excessive and almost abusive for such a low base pay. I'm wondering if this is typical for entry-level marketing or assistant roles? Should I just walk away and keep searching for something more stable, or is there something I'm missing? I’d appreciate any advice.
