Navigating Unemployment Issues in Michigan Public School System This Summer

I work for the public school system in Michigan, and this summer has been a complete nightmare regarding unemployment issues. There have been significant clerical problems between my employer and the Michigan unemployment insurance agency. One major issue is that my employer improperly filed a work search waiver extension. Instead of extending the waiver, they implemented a waiver for registering with Michigan Works. This means I don't have to search for work through Michigan Works specifically, but I still need to complete three work searches. This was not how it was supposed to be handled. I've been in constant communication with my HR department, and they are now advising me to apply for other positions within our own company. However, the work searches were supposed to be registered during the week I file my claim, which complicates things further. To make matters worse, every employee in our company in Michigan is facing issues because our 4th quarter earnings have not been reported. I feel overwhelmed and confused about the situation. I'm worried about the possibility of getting audited if I follow my HR's advice on how to document my work searches. What should I do next?
