Navigating Job Termination and Unemployment Concerns After Forced Shift Changes

I recently faced a tough situation at my job in Utah. About two months ago, my employer started asking for volunteers to cover extra shifts during evenings and weekends, even though I was a salaried employee with a set schedule from Monday to Thursday, 8 AM to 6 PM. According to the employee handbook, I was exempt from having to flex my time. When the requests became more insistent, I reached out to HR for clarification on the policy. They assured me that it was voluntary and ultimately my choice. However, two weeks ago, the program manager publicly pressured my department to cover these shifts without any incentives. She even referenced my conversation with HR during this meeting. Eventually, I was called into a meeting with HR and my supervisor, where I was told that I needed to either take on the additional evening and weekend shifts or I would be separated from my position. I was also due for a raise, but they refused to disclose the amount, which made it difficult for me to make a decision. I responded that I was willing to continue in my original role, but I was informed that my position was being terminated. The program manager was very cold during our conversation, and I was separated from the company that same day, with my email access terminated and my final paycheck mailed. Now I'm concerned about qualifying for unemployment benefits since I was offered a different position, albeit one that was marginally different from my original role. I’m unsure if this will affect my eligibility.
