I was laid off from my temp contractor position in Texas, with my last official workday being Friday, August 28th. Even though my contract technically ends today, Sunday, I’m unsure if I should apply for unemployment benefits now or wait until Monday. After some advice from others, it seems I can go ahead and apply today since I won’t be certifying for the first week until next week anyway. This whole situation has been a bit confusing, but I'm hoping to get things sorted out soon.
