Frustration on Day 1: Retail Sales Associate Facing Scheduling Issues

Today marks day 1 at my new job as a retail sales associate at a brand new store that just had its grand opening. Unfortunately, my experience so far has left me with a poor impression. The hiring process was a bit chaotic; they initially struggled to find my application, and I had to make several calls just to get updates on onboarding. It felt disorganized, but I tried to remain patient given the circumstances. Yesterday, they called me to cover an overnight shift from 10 PM to 6 AM, which I agreed to since I was available. However, when I accessed the scheduling app today, I discovered that they scheduled me for mostly overnight shifts and only one day at 6 AM to 2 PM, which I can't do because of my school commitments. During the interview, they assured me that I could choose between overnight or closing shifts and that my choice would be final. I clearly indicated my preference for closing shifts and even wrote down my availability. Now, my schedule is completely different from what we discussed, and I’m feeling really stressed about it. I called the store to address the issue, but one of the managers was quite rude. Nobody seems willing to pick up my shifts either, and I’m worried about the possibility of being fired if I can’t show up. I’m torn between waiting to see if they will make any adjustments or just quitting after just one day. This situation is really frustrating.
