Just as I received an offer for a Mental Health Technician position, my supervisor quit, and I was offered a co-supervisor role instead. I was excited at first, thinking it would come with a better schedule and a pay raise. However, when I met with HR, they informed me that I would be co-supervising with a coworker and only offered $22/hour, which felt disappointing compared to my expectations. Meanwhile, I had already accepted the hospital job, which pays $25.36/hour, plus various differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends, along with tuition reimbursement for nursing school. The schedule aligns perfectly with my nursing classes, making it a great fit. I feel guilty about leaving my current employer after they finally offered me a promotion, but I believe the hospital job is a better opportunity for my long-term goals of becoming a psychiatric RN. I'm torn between staying for the supervisor title to strengthen my resume or moving forward with the hospital job. What would you do in my situation?
