I recently applied for a position with US Home Pro, which I found on Indeed. They reached out to me for an interview for a sales role that offers $18 an hour for 4-hour shifts, with the potential for commission. The hiring process seemed mostly standard, but it was conducted remotely, and they mentioned possible locations in my area. However, I have some concerns. They asked me to download a messaging platform called RingCentral, which I had never heard of before. Now, they want me to send photos of my ID and Social Security Card for onboarding. This request is raising red flags for me. Sending sensitive identification documents over a messaging platform feels risky and could lead to identity theft. I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has had similar experiences with this company or this type of hiring practice. If others have found this method to be safe, I might consider proceeding, but right now, I'm feeling uneasy about the whole situation.
