I've been working in a retail sales job for about 5 months now, and I'm really worried about being fired. At just 19 years old, I never thought I'd find such passion in selling products, but I truly love what I do. With recent changes in UK labor laws, I know I have some protections after 6 months, but I can't shake the anxiety about my performance. I admit I haven't sold as much as some of the other new starters, and it feels like getting leads is mostly based on luck. Recently, I've started to get a few more leads as things have picked up a bit, but overall, it's been a quiet time for me. I see other new hires getting more online leads, which adds to my worries. I genuinely enjoy this role and the connections I build with customers, and the thought of being let go is disheartening. I know people suggest finding another job, but I feel like I won't find another opportunity like this one. I'm seeking advice on how to improve my sales and whether I should ask for mentoring from my manager. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
