Navigating Mental Health Challenges as a Sales Assistant in a Toxic Work Environment

I'm currently working as a sales assistant at a UK supermarket chain, where I've been for nearly five years. Recently, I've been struggling with my mental health, especially after being diagnosed with autism. Although I've had a supportive boss who accommodates my needs, the job itself has become overwhelming, leading to burnout. The toxic environment created by some coworkers has made things worse, and I often find myself in tears over the stress. I've considered quitting multiple times, but my Nan has urged me to stay since I don't have another job lined up. However, I feel like I can't handle the drama and pressure anymore. I do receive benefits that allow me to live comfortably even if I quit, but I'm worried about the stigma of leaving a job without a backup plan and how my family might react. I'm at a crossroads, wondering if it would be wrong to prioritize my mental health and leave this job.
