I started a new job as a healthcare provider two weeks ago, but today I received a call from the director that completely shocked me. After just six shifts, I was informed that I was being let go due to a lack of progress. I was told that my performance was not meeting expectations, which was hard to believe since I had been seeing patients independently and receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from them. During my training, I was initially told to just observe, but I quickly took on patient responsibilities and even saw more patients than my trainers, who seemed more focused on their phones than on their work. This situation raises a huge red flag for me, as it feels like there might have been some bias against me from my trainers. I’m still processing this and trying to understand what went wrong. It feels like I was set up to fail, and I’m considering my options moving forward, including filing for unemployment. If anyone has advice or questions, I’m open to discussing.
