Navigating the challenges of being an HR Generalist and seeking new opportunities

I started my HR role at a small organization about a year ago, and it was everything I had hoped for—good pay and a decent work-life balance. However, I quickly realized how taxing the job can be. As a Generalist, I handle a wide range of tasks, often getting stuck between employee issues and management's demands. Over the past few months, my workload has piled up, and I find myself juggling unfinished tasks with no clear deadlines. It feels chaotic, as everyone forgets about ongoing projects until they suddenly become 'urgent.' I've also noticed a high turnover rate, which makes recruitment particularly challenging for me. Before this, I worked in a talent acquisition agency, and that experience was far from enjoyable. While my team and manager are supportive, I often wish I could transition to a different role. I recently updated my CV, but I'm struggling to find relevant positions that excite me. I feel stuck and confused about my career path, especially since I can't see myself in a corporate environment for much longer. The job market feels overwhelming, and I remember how difficult it was to land both my current and previous roles. I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has faced a similar situation and how you've managed to cope.
