Frustrations with AI-focused job applications and lengthy written responses

I’ve been job hunting for the past two months after being laid off from my position as a product manager. One trend I’ve noticed is that many application forms are asking multiple questions related to AI projects, often requiring detailed responses about specific experiences. Typically, there are about 3-4 of these questions per application. I find it frustrating that recruiters don't ask these during the phone screening instead of making candidates fill out long written responses. Given that there are often over 100 applicants for a single role, I’m skeptical that the hiring manager will even read my answers. Because of this, I sometimes skip these applications altogether. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you take the time to write out responses, or do you also choose to skip?
