I'm currently unemployed and really passionate about music, especially when it comes to pop-up events featuring my favorite artists like Ariana Grande and Katseye. I've been trying to figure out how to land a job at these types of events. I learned that many of these positions are often filled by third-party marketing firms that handle event and brand activations. However, I've heard that a lot of these companies can be exploitative, putting you in less desirable roles like selling products in grocery stores or soliciting donations on the street for long hours with commission-based pay. I'm also considering applying for jobs at music venues as concert staff or security, as that seems like a more reliable way to get involved in the music scene during events.
