I recently started a new role as a marketing manager at a startup in the hospitality industry after spending about 2.5 months unemployed. Before this, I was a marketing manager for two years, but I left due to a toxic work environment, despite enjoying the job itself. At the startup, I've negotiated a director title and I'm excited about the new path, even though the salary and benefits are lower than average. I'm wondering how long I should ideally stay in this position to make it look good on my resume as I aim to continue growing in the hospitality sector. I've heard that staying for at least a year is a good benchmark, especially in a startup, to show commitment and gain solid experience. I plan to focus on making a positive impact during my time here.
